There’s a quote I’ve been thinking about a lot.
When I see a bird that walks like a duck and swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, I call that bird a duck.
Part of me has always thought that that statement makes absolute sense. Recently I’ve been using it more and more to explain how I feel, because for me that statement is the absolute embodiment of the problem I face every single day. When you walk like a duck, swim like a duck and quack like a duck, people assume you’re a duck. But when you don’t feel like a duck, when you’ve spent your whole life pretending to be a duck only to find more and more that you can’t keep pretending forever, then you encounter problems. For me those problems are mostly depression and suicidal thoughts, but there’s a whole lot more to it than that.
In order to help me cope with that, and what I’m going through right now, I’ve decided to set up this blog. This is my third attempt at a blog in my life and I can’t guarantee the content. It could range from 18+ stories to emotional breakdowns to random stories about movies and books. But whatever goes on here it’ll be an exploration of me and how I feel.
